Supa Lock™ - threadless connection system
Connecting valves and fittings with a threaded connection can be time-consuming and often, it leaves part of the thread exposed to the medium and the external environment. Over time this will cause corrosion of the uncoated thread and may even result in a leakage. Supa Lock™ solves this problem.
Threadless connection system with full corrosion protection
The patented Supa Lock™ system provides a 100% corrosion free joint combined with fast and easy assembly with maximum flexibility. Thanks to its simple design, Supa Lock™ offers long term safety with optimum protection against corrosion and leaks and also protection against accidental disassembly of the joint when the pipeline is pressurized.
The wide Supa Lock™ range consists of valves, tapping saddles and fittings in ductile iron with a heavy duty epoxy coating complying with the strict GSK requirements. Furthermore, ball valves and fittings in dezincification resistant brass complying with the new EU directive for material used in drinking water installations are part of the range.

Easy two-step assembly
After having lubricated the O-rings, the Supa Lock™ spigot end is pushed into the Supa Lock™ socket end, the safety retainer is clicked on.
Self-locking safety retainer
Supa Lock™ is designed as a tensile joint and withstands pressures up to PN 16 x 1.5. The safety retainer is designed with an edge, which makes it self-locking whenever there is pressure in the pipeline. Therefore, no accidental disassembly can take place. The safety retainer has two finger knobs for easy assembly and disassembly.
Joints with heavy duty O-rings provide extra safety
All Supa Lock™ joints are designed with heavy duty O-rings to secure the joint against leaking. The large O-rings provide extra safety when taking into account that a minor permanent deformation of the O-rings is to be expected over the lifetime of the product. Also, when the joint is exposed to bending as a result of ground movements, the large O-rings provide maximum safety.
No rotation of valves and connectors
Free rotation is restricted on the valves and the threaded connectors used for drilling machines to enable effective drilling. Small cast notches placed on the outer rim of the socket end and on the inner rim of the spigot end interlock and prevent rotation.
360° rotation of the fittings gives maximum flexibility
The design allows for a 360° rotation of the fittings, which is a unique feature only offered by the Supa Lock™ system. The free rotation of the joint allows the installer to direct the service pipe outlet in any direction from the main pipe, thus avoiding collision with other pipes or obstacles in the trench.
Easy mounting of IoT sensors
The Supa Lock™ sensor fitting is easily mounted in a Supa Lock™ tapping saddle and allows for attachment of a temperature sensor and a pressure sensor in only one tapping. AVK Smart Water battery-operated IoT sensors provide reliable data from the distribution network directly into any preferred IT system and thereby paves the way for reduced water loss from leaks, increased workflow efficiency and a clearer overview of network conditions.

Do other types of fittings fit into the Supa Lock™ tapping saddles and valves?
Only Supa Lock™ fittings fit into Supa Lock™ tapping saddles and valves. We offer a wide range of Supa Lock™ fittings that should cover most needs.
Which PE pipe sizes are covered by Supa Lock™ valves?
Supa Lock™ valves are available for direct connection to Ø32 mm and Ø40 mm PE pipes. However, you can also connect via fittings to Ø50 mm and Ø63 mm PE pipes.Can I use a Supa Lock™ valve or fitting in the threaded tapping saddles already installed in my pipe system?
When using our Supa Lock™ transition connector with external thread, you can connect an existing threaded tapping saddle to our Supa Lock™ threadless connection system.
FAQ – installation
Where are Supa Lock™ angle valves to be used?
Supa Lock™ angle valves are to be used in connection with top drillings of the main pipe. Top drillings are used where space does not allow for a side drilling, or in cases where the water company has decided to place service valve on top of main pipes in order for them to have a clear marking of the main pipe position.
Can the joint withstand bending of the PE pipe?
As the sealing capability of Supa Lock™ is dependent on rubber compression, we have designed it with heavy duty O-rings which can handle all worst-case scenarios.
How many times can Supa Lock™ products be assembled before the O-rings are getting deformed? And can they be deformed over time?
This will not be an issue with Supa Lock™, since the heavy duty Ø7 mm O-rings provide a lot of passive safety.
What happens if the e.g. the outer rim of the socket end gets damaged?
The design of the safety retainer is made so that it covers more than half of the retainer groove. This secures the retaining function even if the outer rim is broken off.
What happens if the safety retainer breaks or gets lost?
It is made of POM and is highly durable, also at very low and high temperatures. However, the retainers are available as spare parts and can be replaced if they should break or get lost.
